Draxis Comic Review: Daredevil #595 Mayor Fisk #1

Welcome Draxis Web fans! We have a third and final comic for you this week, once again made possible thanks to the support of Vibranium Comics of Ocala.  As the holiday season kicks off, be sure to check out their website and facebook pages to see what great selection they have and the great holiday sales they are going to have coming up.  You are not going to want to miss it!

So the last comic we have to review this week is a new Daredevil comic in the Marvel Legacy series they are currently working with. This is the first part of the Mayor Fisk story line. In a way that parallels the 2016 presidential election in this comic the Kingpin AKA Wilson Fisk ran for and was elected as the Mayor of New York!

In many ways Fisk did exactly what Trump did, he told the people what they wanted to hear, he ran on a platform of hate but in this case it was against the costumed heroes who end up damaging so many things while protecting everyone. Just like with Trump, it’s said when people asked Fisk about his checkered past he didn’t deny it but would embrace it to show he was an outsider willing to do things to get things done that needed it.

Daredevil of course is against this and wants to try and find ways either as Daredevil or as Matt Murdoch to get rid of Fisk. Fisk however has asked the DA to have Matt build a case against Daredevil!. So an interesting conundrum there to build a case against your own alternate identity!

All in all I thought this was a very well thought out comic. I love how its kinda mirroring the real world with Trump and Fisk and I hope I’m not the only one seeing this? Does anyone else feel this way about this comic? If so let me know!
